Westwinds population

Census Tract 0038.15 · Calgary, Alberta

Westwinds is a neighbourhood of Calgary, in Calgary. The 2021 Census recorded a population of 6,021 in Westwinds (people living in private households). Children aged 0 to 14 made up 18.3% of the population. 73.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 38.8% across Calgary as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 26.0%. 24.0% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.2% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 51.5% of the population, compared with 31.5% citywide. Median household income before tax was $88,000 in 2020, compared with $100,000 for Calgary. 29.5% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.29 km², giving a population density of 4,663 people per square kilometre (Calgary averages about 283).
