South Foothills population

Census Tract 0002.09 · Calgary, Alberta

South Foothills is a neighbourhood of Calgary, in Calgary. The 2021 Census recorded a population of 3,626 in South Foothills (people living in private households). Children aged 0 to 14 made up 17.4% of the population. 22.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 38.8% across Calgary as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 5.2%. 71.6% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 5.5% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 20.3% of the population, compared with 31.5% citywide. Median household income before tax was $116,000 in 2020, compared with $100,000 for Calgary. 11.1% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.26 km², giving a population density of 2,889 people per square kilometre (Calgary averages about 283).
