Shawnessy (east) is a neighbourhood of Calgary, in Calgary. The 2021 Census recorded a population of 4,153 in Shawnessy (east) (people living in private households). Children aged 0 to 14 made up 16.7% of the population. 36.4% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 38.8% across Calgary as a whole; the largest single group was Filipino at 17.0%. 58.3% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 5.1% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 38.5% of the population, compared with 31.5% citywide. Median household income before tax was $102,000 in 2020, compared with $100,000 for Calgary. 21.3% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.17 km², giving a population density of 3,560 people per square kilometre (Calgary averages about 300).
